Significance of the Product Differentiation Excellence Award
Key Industry Challenges Addressed by Superior Product Solutions
Temperature monitoring has steadily gained widespread importance in today’s world. Given the large quantities of temperature-sensitive food and pharmaceutical products being produced, stored, and transported everyday across the globe, Frost & Sullivan monitors the demand for efficient temperature monitoring solutions that has risen gradually throughout the world. Since perishable goods, such as medicines, fruits, vegetables, eggs, flowers, and dairy products, can be seriously affected or even damaged from temperature or humidity changes, tight monitoring of their temperature during storage and transit is obviously necessary. As such, the efficient analysis and monitoring of the temperature within storage rooms, transport vehicles, and containers have emerged as vital concerns among participants in the food and the bio-pharmaceutical industries.
Frost & Sullivan feels that the company able to develop high-quality and cost-effective solutions to efficiently monitor the temperature of food and pharmaceutical products in storage or during transit will find itself better positioned to address these challenges than other market participants. Such a company will be able to maintain a distinct advantage against the competition in the temperature monitoring space.
Key Benchmarking Criteria for Product Differentiation Excellence Award
For the Product Differentiation Excellence Award, the following criteria were used to benchmark ATI’s performance against key competitors:
• Unique Features/Functionality
• Matched to Target Markets Needs
• Brand Perception of the Uniqueness of the Product
ATI, a leading provider of temperature monitoring solutions for pharmaceutical, food, and medical cold chain applications, has managed to establish a distinct position in the North American wireless temperature monitoring solutions market through the introduction of its LOG-IC solution. The LOG-IC solution leverages wireless RFID tags to capture temperature data that can be accessed, viewed, and recorded using LOG-IC mobile handheld readers. The company also introduced the LOG-IC Mobile App that allows customers to scan LOG-IC tags using their Android-based NFC-capable smartphones. The company offers a range of low-cost chemical color change indicators that allows it to target a larger section of the cold chain market. Given its distinct approach to product development, ATI has been chosen as the worthiest recipient of the 2013 Frost & Sullivan Product Differentiation Excellence Award.
