FAQ

What is an HTA?
HTA stands for High Temperature Ascending. It refers to an irreversible ascending temperature label.  Once the specified temperature has been exceeded the activation area on the label changes from white to a permanent red color.

How are they applied?
Labels can be applied by hand or by machine application.

How do they work?
Each label has a chemical deposit that is formulated to react at a specified temperature.  When the temperature has been exceeded the chemistry migrates into the display area on the label to create a permanent color change.

How are they activated?
The labels are self-activated and ready to use.

How can HTA’s save me money?
Use of an HTA indicator guaranties your product is watched closely for temperature abuse and thus preventing costly return of product.  Shippers are more cautious when they know a product is being monitored for temperature excursions.

Can your temperature labels be used in HACCP programs?
Absolutely, the HTA is a perfect tool to help with the decision-making at Critical points in food processing and handling.

How big are the labels?
The labels are very thin with an adhesive backing so they can be easily applied directly to product or outer carton.

Are the labels accurate and with what tolerance?
The indicating labels are very accurate with tolerances ranging from ±1°C to ±2°C.

What is the shelf life of these temperature labels?
Up to two years when stored in proper conditions.

Can I have my company logo put onto a label?
Yes, we can customize an indicating label to your specifications including your logo.
